Treatments:

Homemade Face Masks

Not only are face masks relaxing and fun, they’re also amazing for your skin. Sure, you can buy shop bought ones, but making the face masks is half the fun. The fab thing about making them is you can choose what ingredients you put in. Everyone has different skin types and skin goals so it’s about finding a recipe that suits you. There are so many easy homemade face masks out there just waiting to be tried. If you’re feeling extra fancy, why not try a hair mask? You can never give yourself too much TLC.

Mani/Pedis

Manicures and pedicures give you the perfect opportunity to get creative and have a laugh with your friends. Most of us have nail varnishes laying around which is ideal if you’re trying to save money. If you need inspiration, why not host a mini competition … Best design gets an extra glass of bubbly?

Snacks

No good spa day is complete without some indulgent treats. Ensure you have the treats to go alongside the treatments to make your spa day complete.

Drinks

Whether you plan on popping the bubbly or cozying up with a hot chocolate, you’re going to need to get the drinks in. If you’re looking for a complete detox day fruit-infused-waters are a great idea.

Blueberries are the perfect ingredient to include in your detox drinks. Eating one cup of wild blueberries will provide 13,427 total antioxidants. Raspberries and strawberries are also great for this. If you’re more of a citrus kind of person oranges and lemons are great at providing fiber as well as being an excellent source of vitamin C.

Food

So, you have everyone round for an indulgent spa day, you’re going to need indulgent goodies. Luxury chocolate is the perfect way to add sophistication to your day. Dark chocolate has been shown to regulate blood pressure and act as an antioxidant so is the ideal accompaniment to a detoxing spa day. Not only this, chocolate contains a chemical called phenylethylamine (PEA) which encourages your brain to release feel-good endorphins … You’re not imagining it. Chocolate really does make you feel happier.

Ambience

A combination of the right refreshments and treatments will make for a great spa day. However, all of this means nothing if the mood isn’t right. You need to create a relaxed atmosphere and you can do this by making a few small changes.

Candles

Candles are a great way to make a home spa feel like a real spa. They are great at setting the mood and creating a calm ambience. If they’re scented- even better!

Attire

Any spa day needs comfy clothes. Bath robes are a great idea if you want that real spa feel. If you’re seeking comfort, slip on your favourite pajamas and slippers. It’s the perfect excuse for a PJ day, so why not go for it?

Put all of this together and you have a fun, relaxing spa day for you and your friends—without breaking the bank. You could try it with family too, or even creating a hamper for someone with all the above included as a gift.
