How to Take Care of Your Eyelash Extensions | After Care Guide by YEGI LASHES

Eyelash extensions are blessings to do those who are not born with thick and long eyelashes. Getting them is one of the effective ways when it comes to giving more volume and life to the eyelashes.

There are right methods and best procedures done by particular lash studios, but the way to make eyelash extensions last lies in your hands. The eyes are sensitive, and so are these eyelash extensions. For you, they make you look better, but without taking care of them, they will not last long.

If you are planning to get eyelash extensions, or if you have already gotten a pair, you might be wondering these things, so here they are—six tips on how to make your lash extensions last:

[1] Naughty Hands Off

You use your hands most of the time in most of the things you do. The downside is that sometimes, you don’t actually notice some habits they let you have such as frequent touching.

Leave your eyelash extensions alone if it is not necessary to touch or move them. Do not play with them just because you’re bored or you just feel like doing so. Rubbing your eyes and the areas around them can also damage your eyelash extensions.

Your hands are often dirty since you use them to touch and hold these and those! You know that they can easily transfer dirt and dust from one place to another. If you always have your hands on your eye areas, your extensions can’t last long because they’re always disturbed and the adhesive might weaken.

[2] Proper Sleeping Position

People have different sleeping positions with which they are very comfortable. If you have the habit of sleeping on your face, when you already have your eyelash extensions, it’s already prohibited. Doing that will definitely ruin them.

There’s a pressure that your eyelash extensions receive which will cause them to fall out. Sleeping on your face also opens more opportunities for your extensions to get thrusted and eventually pulled out. Make it a habit to sleep on your back. That makes eyelash extensions safer and better.

[3] Oil-free is better.

Any makeup products with oil content must not be used. Skip the mascara this time for it includes waxes and oils. To remove it, you will need to wash it off with plenty of water. The other alternative is to use oil-based makeup remover. Well, again, that’s oil, and it should be avoided. The oil can melt away the eyelash extensions and their stick on your natural lashes.

[4] Brush them.

There are brushes made especially for the eyelashes. Use them to keep your extensions in their right place and to make them look even more beautiful and fresh as time goes by. Do it properly and delicately.

[5] Gentle Removal of Makeup

Most of the times, when you remove makeup, you might think that applying a lot of force and pressure is necessary so you can easily and immediately eliminate the makeup without leaving any marks.

Cotton pads and a water-based cleanser will be very helpful so you can use healthier products for your eyes and lash extensions. Again, if you do it strongly, they can be pulled out of your real lashes anytime.

[6] A Good Salon

For excellent eyelash extension results, you need to choose an excellent lash studio as well, complete with the best facilities and best beauty artists. Choose wisely by doing a lot of research and inquiries too.

A good salon will give you special pieces of advice to make your eyelash extensions last for a really long time. It will even tell you honestly the needed aftercare for them too. That’s why even before getting your lashes extended, you should make a clever decision in selecting where to get them in the first place.
