my first ever GIF...no really

This isn't an article for someone looking for a new look or some new tips on getting your eyeliner to look perfect...this is an article for the absolute beginners...never wore makeup before in their life!

First thing's first: wearing makeup is fun, as it should be. I know that some employers want their female staff to wear makeup, and that might be why you're here, but I want to let you know that it's OK to wear makeup if you want to.

1. Cleanser

First, you have to clean your face. I personally recommend this step.

2. Treatment

For pimples really—or eczema. I use acne treatment cream that is also a moisturizer and a primer! So you can get a few of these in one go.

3. Moisturizer

You will need a special moisturizer that is meant for going under makeup, but please note that this step is important for keeping your skin healthy.

4. Primer

Primer makes your pores smaller. This is useful for keeping dirt (and your makeup) out of your pores. I also really like the look of smaller pores on me.

If you start wearing makeup a lot, you will forget this step sometimes, and thats OK. :P

5. Foundation

I find it funny that foundation isn't the first thing you put on, but it is important. I personally believe in using a foundation colour that is ever so slightly a darker tone than your real skin is. If you go too dark, there will be a line right before your neck...or, you can put foundation on your neck too.

6. Concealer

Put concealer over your insecurities, like pimples or scars. If your not insecure of your scars, then you don't need to conceal them. :P

I use concealer right under my eyes to hide the natural blue tone.

7. Powder

I use a clear powder just to give my face a matte look, but you can use a colour powder too. I really recommend using powder to avoid an accidental oily look from your foundation.

8. Bronzer

Perfect for winter! Bronzer is a sparkly powder that is usually darker than your skin tone. I use it on the top on my fore head, right under my cheek bones, and right under my jaw line.

Be careful not to use too much. :P

9. Blush

Also sometimes known as "rose" apparently :P. Just kidding. Ignore that. Blush is used right on your jaw line and is perfect to use alone if you don't want to use any bronzer and stuff like that, but you can use it with all that stuff too.

10. Highlight

Highlighter is a sparkly finish to put right on top of your cheek bones, the tip of your nose, right by your eyes...and everywhere else, really!

Out of everything that I wrote today, the most important thing to remember about makeup is to have fun!!!

Here are some YouTube videos to check out about beginner makeup!

I know it's super simple, but it's also polished and great for work!

I love my silisponge; it's way better for foundation and it's easy to clean. Also, it turns out you can use a silisponge for power makeup too! I really did not know that until way after I bought my first silisponge.

This is just a little funny makeup video. Once you learn the basics of makeup, it is super entertaining listening to someone try and guess what is going on!

Thank you for reading my article. I hope you enjoyed it. If you want to read more articles by me (and maybe even some blogs), please feel free to check out the rest of my articles here on Vocal.
