Maybelline's new Fit Me! Foundation has been praised repeatedly for its lasting coverage and affordable cost. You have two options when deciding which Fit Me! Foundation you want to try—the dewy finish or the matte finish. Both of the two different foundations offer pore control and the famous drugstore brand promises a poreless look. Maybelline has even made an effort to help others find their skin tone by creating a quiz to find the "perfect" match of their popular Fit Me! Foundation. However, after taking the quiz and buying the product myself, I can assure you that there are more cons than pros about this foundation.

After buying the Matte+Poreless foundation the first thing that I noticed was that the bottle was glass, not plastic. Most would probably think it was a nice approach, however, the first thing I thought of was accidentally dropping and breaking it. I was pleased to find that it offered light-medium coverage, which is a bargain for the price I paid for it ($6). Although, when I began putting this product on, I noticed the texture was rather runny and a real pain to apply as it doesn't have a dispenser. The second thing I noticed about this foundation is that it rubs off super easily. It has a very slippery texture that is hard to work with, especially when you are in a hurry and don't have time to fool around. This also caused an issue for me because my skin is naturally oily and runny foundation doesn't mix with oily skin. This product also has issues with staying on. When other things such as blush or bronzer are applied it rubs off, exposing exactly what you wanted to cover up. Now, I don't know about you all, but I touch my face a lot throughout the day which can really cause an issue when using this foundation because it rubs off so easily. If you are a person who doesn't touch your face much, then this product might be the one for you, but for someone like me, it is not anywhere near what I need for my skin type.

However, I do believe using a primer or something of that sort may cause the foundation to stay in place. I didn't have anything on at all when I applied it, so that may have been the reason it didn't say on. After trying the foundation a second time, I used a Clinique powder and it made a little difference. Another issue I had with this foundation was finding my correct skin tone match. The quiz Maybelline created told me my skin tone was much darker than what it really was and I ended up wasting my money on the wrong color of foundation. So remember to go with your instincts when picking out your foundation! On top of that, the foundation oxidized within a week of buying it and believe me when I tell you, leaving the house with an orange face is never a good thing.

Maybelline's Fit Me! Foundation overall isn't something I would recommend for anyone who has sensitive or acne-prone skin as it caused me to have a breakout. Although it stays on for at least a couple hours (if you don't touch your face or apply anything other than powder), I find that it is patchy/cakey after being used and rubs off easily. Again, all skin types are different, my skin type leans towards the sweaty, acne-prone side and this foundation really wasn't too flattering on me. But, you never know, this product may work for you. As the old saying goes "Don't knock it 'til you try it."
