The Lipstick with the lid on..

Last Friday I was feeling like my lipstick wasn't all that it should be. After I got off the train, I went to target to buy some other lipstick. Of all the brands at Target, I bought this one because it was a fair price for a product which I heard was good. When I bought it and applied it, I wasn't disappointed. It was everything I wanted for the price and more. Most everything about this lipstick is pleasing, and I really think that Nyx has outdone themselves by creating a quality product for a low price. I'm especially pleased as a first-time buyer of Nyx makeup.

The package is relatively plain, which is very much in contrast to the product of the lipstick. One thing about the package that I'm impressed with though is the clear window that shows the actual lipstick color instead of a sticker which can be deceiving. That way, you avoid having to take off the top in the store or buying the wrong lipstick color (I've done this a couple times).

This lipstick has very impressive staying power, even soon after application it won't easily transfer to surfaces such as bottles (or anything else touching your mouth ;) ); just stay away from any kind of bread, as it acts like a makeup remover. After the lipstick has been on for a couple hours, it's nearly immune to transferring to anything and yes, it even stays on when eating bread. It can seriously stay on all day if you're careful to not smudge or it on anything. However, I will admit that you need to re-apply after using a napkin or paper towel on your face.

The application of this lipstick is very smooth and easy, It feels almost as if the lipstick just glides on. The only downside I see with the application is that the screw mechanism which makes the lipstick come farther out doesn't stay still very well. Other than that, the application is a breeze.

If you don't care much for the "natural" color that I use, Nyx makes 45 different colors of matte lipstick for great variety. I personally use this for an emo/scene look which requires it to make my lips look good without using a color that's too bright. If you're into brighter and bolder colors, Nyx makes colors of this that range from dazzling reds to bright pinks, earthy browns and even a couple other colors.

This lipstick is very comfortable to wear; it's creamy feel but matte texture make it very comfortable. Unlike my previous lipstick which felt like it would get rubbed off by so much as a tissue, this one feels durable and rugged, but also elegant and sensual. Kinda like that good looking, well dressed and kind guy that has a goatee with a bit of stubble. (You know the kind of person I'm talking about) but with more relatability and femininity. Another great thing about this lipstick is that even though it's matte, it never is completely dry and feels wearable all day.

Amazingly enough, this lipstick only costs 6 dollars for one stick and is completely cruelty-free. You can find it at CVS, Target, Walmart, Walgreens, Macy's, and the Nyx Cosmetics website. Target has the largest selection I've seen, but they sell this at every store listed.

Overall, I very much enjoy using this lipstick and plan on buying more colors in the near future. I haven't really found a downside to it as a product, only very slightly with the packaging. I think you'll be very pleased this lipstick, I know I am.

If you want me to review something or just have comments or questions, email me (my email is on my profile). I mostly do things that are low priced because that's what I can afford right now, so please keep that in mind.
