A Self-Care Shopping List

Think about buying these things next time you're at Walmart. It is not something that you necessarily need for survival, but it is something you need to survive the results of your mid-terms and your family for this Holiday season break. I will also include/recommend my favorite products and how much they each cost on average. Everything, in the name of self-care.

(They are not really in any order.)

Shampoo (umm... hello?):Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Shampoo by Shea Moisture, $8

Conditioner (I use this like my life depends on it LOL):Coconut & Hibiscus Curl & Shine Conditioner by Shea Moisture, $11

Body Scrub (walk out the shower feeling fresh AF): Sugar Crush Body Scrub by Soap & Glory, $15

I don't really use body spray; they give me headaches, especially the cheap ones.

Body Lotion (I use lotion religiously, especially cocoa butter lotion): Palmer's Coca Butter Formula Lotion, $5

I've never bought/used bath bombs to this day... oops.

I don't even use shower gel TBH. I use body wash/scrub.

Moisturizer (for face and/or body... yeessss):Aveeno Daily Face Moisturizer, $8

Lip Scrub (cause you can't be flexing with crusty lips):Carmex Lip Balm, $1

I don't really use perfume—only Chanel, literally.

Lip Gloss (I have one in my book bag, purse, and wallet, yes):Kiss Broadway Clear Lip, $1 (local beauty supply store)

Lotion (I carry it everywhere, especially the travel-size!): Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lotion, $5

Cleanser (let's get this face clear this year!): Aveeno Clear Complexion Foaming Cleanser, $7

Toner (can't miss this step!): Thayer's Witch Hazel Toner, $7

For Vitamins, because who has time to actually keep up with these, just eat the gummies, even though they don't offer the same benefits, I would recommend consulting your own physician.

More lip balm—yes, again, you can't be having crusty lips!

For hair ties, I'm always losing and/or breaking the back-ups of the back-ups, but I haven't found ones that haven't let me down LOL.

Scrunchies (I just started getting into these and they're cute):Forever 21 Scrunchies, $3.90 or $2.90 each

Face Mask (I love these and they make me feel rich AF): YesTo Masks, about $3 each

I've never used a hair mask before TBH.

For coconut oil, I only ever use the one that is imported from Mexico that weirdly smells like popcorn and those winter days in Mexico.

I've never used edge control, but my niece swears by it.

Hoop Earrings (I only ever get mine from Beauty World, or your local beauty supply store): About $1 or $2 per pair

Rings I also only get from my local beauty supply store.

Acrylic Nails (Kiss Nails, fave nail polish color, top coat, scissors, and nail file—and you're already a baddie on a budget): Less than $20

And facial oil, I don't recommend it for my oily skin babes—like me.

That's all folk! Until next time, babes!

Everything, in the name of self-care.

Hey guys! So in case you didn’t notice, I am new to Vocal. I am excited to embark on this new journey, especially with you guys, a new community. My name is Yaire, I am 17 years old and I am from North Carolina. I am a Chicanx and I graduate from high school this year. #Classof2k19 #SEN19RSZN I will not only talk about things beauty, but also lifestyle, health, and maybe even a little bit of journaling here and there. But you won’t know unless you follow or check back every Monday, Thursday, and Friday, since those are the days that I am planning on uploading something—or whenever I can, since I am a high school/college student and I also have a part-time job.
