Skincare Must-Haves

Skincare never used to be my forte. I know makeup and I know makeup very well. Put me into a Sephora, tell me you need some makeup and I will know exactly what to do and what to buy. But skincare? No thanks, not a fan. I honestly did not even know what type of skin I had until the beginning of this year when I got treated to a facial. Because of this, my new year's resolution was to try harder to take care of my skin, not just wipe off my makeup with a wipe and call it a night. I knew I could do better and was determined, I will admit, creating a strict skincare routine is most definitely not easy. I failed more often times than not, but I enjoyed testing and trying various products and seeing how they made my skin appear!

For the record: I had dry and sensitive skin.

OLEHENRICKSON Truth Serum

I know what you are thinking: Expensive. But trust me, this is the most astonishing product that I have ever placed on my face and it is actually a game-changer. This serum leaves your skin feeling soft and bright. After consistent use, I saw a dramatic difference in my skin. Reducing my dark spots and clearing up my dry patches by the third day I started to use, I swear by this stuff and run to the store every time I am even remotely close to running out.

OLEHENRIKSEN Invigorating Night Transformation Gel

Okay, same brand, same price. But I will say this: pricey skincare is actually worth it. Makeup you can easily get dupes from the drugstore, but I really see a distinction in the higher-end skincare department. I feel like serums, gels, etc., those are the things you should spend your money on with skincare. This product particularly makes a difference. Combined with the Truth Serum, these two are a match made in heaven. If you are looking for a fabulous skin and have some spare money, I would say go to Sephora right now. (I mean now)

Mario Badescu Drying Lotion

This is my go-to spot treatment. I put this on at night, and by the morning, my pimples have dramatically decreased in size. One more night putting this on and the pimple will completely be gone. With a slight tingly feeling, I know this one does miracle work. Whether it is that time of the month or you are super stressed, this spot-treatment gets rid of those troublesome pimples.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray With Aloe, Herb and Rosewater

I probably use this spray for more stuff than I am supposed to. I use this after I wash my face, before I apply my makeup, and then when I am done applying my makeup for a dewy finish. For only $7, this product goes such a long way. You can also bring it along with you when going out to freshen up. I keep it in my purse so during work I can give myself a spritz to wake up when needed!

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser

I have tried face washes near and far, ranging from high and low prices. However, this face wash, for only $9, might I add, is the best I have found. It compliments my sensitive and dry skin beautifully, leaving it smooth and clean. It calms breakouts and is super gentle. I sincerely have yet to find anything better and I genuinely do not think I will.

GLAMGLOW SuperMud Clearing Treatment

When looking to pamper myself, this is the mask for me. It is costly, but it is totally worth it. This mask clears your pores like no mask has ever been able to. It leaves it feeling like there is absolutely no dirt in your pores and there never was. It tingles slightly, and do not make the mistake of leaving it on for too long as it will really dry up your skin, but it certainly does make an actual impact on your skin and the appearance of pores!
