Ten Brands Sephora Should Consider

Eyeshadow Edition

Disclaimer: I am a customer who likes to test out what she’s purchasing. And at the very least, I like to have the assurance that I can go to a physical store ASAP and return something I ordered online because I did not like it. In terms of makeup, for me Sephora is the preferable option, for online shopping and in store returns. But for you, that could be Ulta. I realize that Ulta is better than Sephora for many of you out there who have access to the store. Unfortunately, I cannot speak to that end because I do not have access to an Ulta. Nonetheless, the gist is that I would love for these brands to have a physical store safe-proof. For me, it’s Sephora, for you it might be something else. Really depends on where you live.

All these brands to my knowledge are mainly online retailers, forgive me if I am wrong. In that vein, my budget for online shopping with inexperienced brands per product is $10-$50 depending on what the actual item itself is. I can’t justify $50 for one makeup product from a brand I’ve never tested. I’ve done it, and so far it’s been alright. But there have been a few misses. So that’s how this list was procured, I want something from all these brands. It’s just I would not want to buy it without a physical store counterpoint. I am not saying all these brands, just one or two. Anything other than the colourpop state of mind thing.

Melt Cosmetics

The idea of stacks is really innovative. But their price point makes me hesitate.

Storybook Cosmetics

I love books. I’d be stoked if they came out with a Beauty and the Beast palette and did it right.

Sugarpill

It feels expensive cute, not cheap cute (if you know what, who, I mean). And there price is Sephora steep.

Coloured Raine

The Queen Of Hearts palette. (I really want it bad. But my paranoia of not spending too much money on new brands online is holding me back. But IK eventually I’ll get it. But we are holding off for now.)

Dose of Colours

The price range is there. It’s cruelty free. At this point, even if it’s just a new name, I’ll take it. Beige from a new brand, rather than the same brand? I can deal with that (sort of).

Lorac

I can just see how it could be more popular than some brands Sephora already has. It, NARS, Smashbox, and Clinique fail to intrigue me.

Certifeye

Aside from the catchy name, I so want to get my hands on their Tropical Wonders palette. Because it looks just that wonderful.

Bourgeois Paris

I would like to see affordable (by Sephora’s standards) bits of French in the makeup world. And the quality is astoundingly good (at least for the palette that I have by them).

Strobe Cosmetics

I like cutesy gothic monsters and stuff. Really close to my young heart.

Saucebox Cosmetics

I like their representation and how environment conscious the brand is. And it somehow really speaks to me in some way. I just don’t know why. Extremely intrigued.

So here we have it, the ten brands I would love to have physical access to in my local areas. Regardless of what store it really ends up in, I know that I have not listed all brands. It could be one of the four reasons, from high to how:

  1. I do not know about it. (Very likely)
  2. The brand’s website turns me off. (It has happened.)
  3. Nothing in the brand intrigues me. (Ofra)
  4. I do not support the brand because of other socio-political matters. I can find product quality elsewhere. Therefore, I refuse to trade human dignity and integrity for a materialistic “quality.” (Lime Crime)

The brands I have mentioned may have socio-political drama, but I am at the moment unaware of it. I never go looking into a brand’s public image, it always comes to me. So as long as nothing came to me, I take it as a good omen.

This is a subjective opinion which is completely meaningless in the grand scheme of things. I take no responsibility for your hurt sentiments, except to say that I had no intention to hurt your feelings.
