Have you ever done your eye makeup and something just didn't seem right? Many times when people pick out eyeshadows, they pick the colors that appeal to them, rather than the ones that appeal to their eye color. Although trying out crazy colors is fun and all, sometimes it's nice to accentuate your eye color. Like they say: Eyes are the windows to the soul. After digging in my makeup notes, I found all the colors you need to make your eyes shine. Keep reading if you want to find the best eyeshadows for your eye color.

Brown Eyes

Since brown is such a neutral color, any eyeshadow will work. You can play with any color, creating new looks, while still making your eyes look beautiful. Purple is the opposite of brown on the color wheel, so if you really want to make your eyes pop, this is the color for you. A royal blue along the lashline can add a pop of color, while still complementing your eyes. Any silver eyeshadow looks great because the cool tone of the silver contrasts against the warm tone of your brown eyes.

Blue Eyes

I myself have blue eyes, so here are my secrets to making my eyes look so blue. My go-to colors are browns and oranges. Since orange is the opposite of blue on the color wheel, that is the main color that makes my eyes look so pretty. If I am feeling super glam, I will go for a orange and brown smokey eye. Pinks and mauves also complement blue eyes so well. I use pink shimmer on my lid with brown in my crease on a daily basis. You have to be careful with mauves because if you go too purple, your eyes will look lost. If you stay will warm tones, you're golden.

Hazel Eyes

Hazel eyes are that perfect mixture of brown and gold. Usually, you don't pair your eyeshadow with the color in your eyes, BUT with hazel eyes, gold is your best friend. Gold eyeshadow brings out the golden specks in your eyes, making them glow (figuratively of course). If you have green/brown hazel eyes, you have to fire up the green. Use burgundy, coppers, and purples to really pull that green out. If you have blue/green hazel eyes, choose any of the colors that go with blue (above) or green (below) eyes. Any one of those will go great.

Green Eyes

Like I said above, you have to fire up the green. Red bases look great with brown eyeshadow over top. Burgundy, coppers, and purples will make your green eyes pop. For example, an orange transition color with a deep brick red color in the crease, topped off with a copper shimmer on the lid is my favorite look to do with green eyes. Red is the opposite of green on the color wheel, so don't be scared to break out the orange and red eyeshadows (using a light hand, of course). Green eyes are somewhat like blue eyes, mostly because they are next to each other on the color wheel. Green eyes can go with the same colors blue eyes go with. Now, green eyes can wear purple with no issue, while blue eyes have a harder time shining through with cool toned shadows.

Although everyone should wear the eyeshadow that they want, it is good to know what really brings out the color in your eyes. I feel like I have said eyes so many times in this article, but it's all for a good reason. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Now you know how to make your natural beauty stand out in your own unique way.
