Why is it that when something new an exciting becomes popular everyone has to have it? I’m not sure what the answer to that is, but does it really matter?
I have always enjoyed watching trends come and go and also like to be a part of some of those trends. While I seem to enjoy them, not everyone else does. With passing trends also come the haters. You know, those who just have to comment on everything because of course they are too cool to be a part of anything. I’m not trying to start any controversy on hating haters. I simply think it’s fascinating that hate even exist. I don’t think a perfect world means there shouldn’t be any hate, but I think there are other ways to address things we don’t always agree with. I firmly believe that having a conversation on topics we don’t always agree on is way better than staying quiet. We all have opinions and they deserve to be heard.
Anyway, back to trends and what they mean to me. I like seeing and sharing new styles. I think it is fun to participate in things that intrigue you. Being creative is something we can all do. Whether it be through fashion, photography, writing or whatever—everyone can benefit from expressing themselves. It can be incredibly liberating and also very healing to the soul. I say keep the trends coming, and be a part of them if you’d like. If you don’t, then that’s cool too.
There is so much I can say about this topic, but this is all I wanted to share for now.
Just a little back story on this picture... Almost three years ago I decided to shave the back of my head. It was a trend I saw on social media and I thought it was so groovy and something I had never seen before on anyone. I have no idea how the trend started or when it ended but it’s become a part of my life now and I love it. It’s almost become like a tradition for me to only shave it once a year and have a new design. Picking out a new design is sacred to me because it marks a new chapter in my life, a new beginning. I won’t go on and on about my hair but I thought it would be nice to share some thoughts.
Have a lovely day trendsetters.
