What's In My Makeup Bag?
For a long period of time, I never had a certain combination of products that I would reach for; however, as my makeup collection grew, it was only natural for me to gather my most-used products and keep them separate from the rest of my makeup collection, so that I could grab my most trust-worthy products and use them on a daily basis.
Before we delve into my foundation-stained makeup bag, I should inform you that the products mentioned below will most likely not be new (to the majority of you) as most of them were released a long time ago. The products mentioned below are my personal favourites that I have been using for a couple of months (if not years).
Please keep in mind that the products mentioned below may not work and/or have the same effect on your skin as they do on mine as a result of differing skin types and/or skin tones.
bareMinerals Prime Time Foundation Primer
My skin is oily so this primer is great at smoothing my skin and controlling my oiliness. I usually apply this primer through my t-zone as that's where my skin tends to get the oiliest. Also, one of the best things about this primer is that you literally need the smallest amount and it effectively locks your makeup into place.
NYX Mineral Stick Foundation
In 07 Cool Tan - I'm incredibly lazy when it comes to blending foundation so I've really like this stick foundation - it blends like an absolute dream. The application is so quick and using this foundation saves me so much time. If you're looking for a glowy, slightly dewy finish with minimal blending required then it might be worth visiting the NYX website.
Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer
In 20 - Overall, this concealer is great as it can be used for a variety of skin concerns; I like to use it to cover redness, dark circles, spots, freckles and sharpen my eyebrows after filling them in. I highly recommend this product if you're on the lookout for a concealer to use on a day-to-day basis without breaking the bank!
George Silk Finish Pressed Powder
In 01 Translucent - Simply put, this powder does the job of erasing any unwanted shininess. It keeps my oiliness at bay and is extremely affordable. Like I mentioned, my skin is oily and has been throughout the majority of my life so I've tested a range of face differing in price and I see no major difference in this powder as opposed to a powder from a more expensive brand.
Collection Eye Brow Kit
In Brunette - The kit consists of three different brow powders and a clear brow mascara. I use the darkest shade in the Brunette brow kit to fill in sparse areas and define my eyebrows. Although, the clear brow mascara included in the kit is long-lasting, I prefer using a different brow gel such as the L'oreal Paris Brow Artist Plumper to further darken my brow hairs.
Collection Fast Stroke Defining Lash Mascara
In Black - This mascara is great at lengthening and separating my lashes; it defines my eyes and I can trust the mascara to last all day with no signs of flaking and/or smudging. I especially love the straight wand shape and the tapered tip as it coats even the tiniest of lashes with ease.
Avon Glimmerstick Eye Liner
In Blackest Black - I love using this slim eyeliner in my tightline to make my upper lashes look thicker and more defined.
New Look Lip Liner
In Orchard - I use this liner to define my cupids bow before applying my favourite nude-pink lip product. Recently, I've been loving using this lipliner on its own for a super matte finish.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss
In 040 Nude Lustre - I love using this pink/brown gloss to add a nice sheen to my lips. I highly recommend Revlon glosses as they're non-sticky and really pigmented; I love the colour pay-off.
Avon mark. MagiX Prep and Set Spray
This spray finely mists over the face and locks my makeup in place all day. I love the formula of this product as it revives and makes my skin look like skin again. I especially love using this spray as it gets rid of any excess powder on the face. This setting spray also doubles up as a primer.
