11 New Palettes and My Tiff with Them

PART III

Disclaimer: I do not know why I have been writing “tift” instead of tiff in my titles. Despite knowing that it felt wrong. I work too many days, that’s my excuse. Regardless, forgive me for the embarrassing mistake. Moving on, critiquing is not hating (a dictionary would tell you that). And if you feel free to disagree, then this post may not be for you. Credit goes to Trendmood for keeping people posted about the makeup industry. This is a first impression based on online viewing only. I have not had the chance to see or touch any of these physically.

Needs and Wants Palettes by Emily Noel and Makeup Revolution

Needs is most definitely not for me. And wants is more like “needs” and then some more. Therefore, having two palettes doesn’t really make sense to me. Regardless, I don’t see myself picking either one up, simply because I dislike Makeup Revolution packaging.

Patrick Star and MAC

I love Patrick Star. But c’mon, it’s getting old now. We are on the fourth collaboration between PS and MAC. Time for newer and fresher things for both the brand and the influencer.

Naked Cherry by Urban Decay

If this is permanent, I’ll most definitely buy it down the road. However, too soon after having purchased BTR, and Naked. I already have four palettes by the brand. If it’s “limited edition” unfortunately I do not see myself buying it. Though, I do love it. This is like Naked 3 on high. Though, people are wondering if this is even legit. I do think it is. On a different note, I do think UD pumps out palette way too fast. Would’ve loved seeing this in the mini Aphrodisac palette instead.

Elements by Urban Decay

Despite my points in number three, I still want this. I’m in love with it. Let’s hope it’s UD exclusive, and does not drop on other retailers. Or my wallet will most definitely cry.

Sweet Escape by Tarte

It’s too bulky! Colour story is nothing to rave about. Personally don’t like the idea of having other products in an eyeshadow palette. But it does make sense for an all-in-one gift idea for a young one (and no I don’t mean children).

Christmas Dreams by Too Faced

Looks cheap from what I can see so far. Not wasting that coin on TF holiday palettes, ever, when I can put it to better use on a palette that I really do want.

Pineapple Palette by Tarte

If this was not a set. I’ve would’ve bought it. I’m digging the pineapple. Seriously. But again perhaps it’s a good thing. Why do I keep forgetting that Tarte is anti-hauled for me at the moment. Plus the skin tones in their swatch picture makes me shake my head. The “darkest” model arm is lighter than mine.

Haunted Hearts by Bearded Beauty Brand

Depending on the packaging I may or may not get it. Liking the colour story, despite its everyday “wearability."

Classic Horror by LA Splash Cosmetics

Want it times three. I do not have a regular-sized rainbow palette. So this one will fit right into my collection. Dependent on shipping costs.

Astrolights by Ciate London

I am most definitely getting one of these. Ciate London is one of my favourite brands when it comes to eyeshadows. Plus, it’s an independent brand. I just decluttered my two year old palette by them. Guess, the timing was right on that score.

Night Garden and Fleur Fatale by NARS x Erdem

I honestly do not know when this dropped. I came by this very coincidentally while looking at something else on Selfridges. I am intrigued. But alas, it’s only available where shipping is not feasible. Kind of irked that the sleeve and the actual packaging does not match. But I low-key love the sleeve and actual packaging too.

Thank you for your time.
